They can be made out of aluminium, wood, plastic/styrene etc. You can have it go from 2 leg to 3 leg mode, rising persicopes, gripper claws, fire extinguishers, put a Kinect inside and make it autonomous..anything you like.
The members are extremely helpful with advice and suggestions on building.
But, dont ask to buy a droid. It's not legal and nobody will do it. It's called R2 builders for a reason.
